Could this be the day when cycling minnows Team Washo finally join the big boys? The top division draws close, and a win or second place today for Oswald Vancleave in Portugal would lift the Staffordshire based outfit up into the elite.
It all sounds so easy, but the reality is much more challenging, standing in Oswald’s way today are some of the greatest cobblers in OCM history including Nicolas Axelholm, Antao Neves and most notably the great Sieuward Schimmel.
Getting there though is only part of the problem, staying there is when it really gets difficult, with the team still incapable of truly competing with the top dogs of the cycling world.
However exciting times lie ahead with restructuring taking place to the team, more of which will be later revealed. 19:31 that’s the time when this small Staffordshire team could finally fulfil its potential. Is today the day?

Nearly, but not to be. Schimmel takes victory with Vancleave an excellent 4th showing he can match it with the best.
Up to 56th in the world, and Vancleave up to 37th in the rider rankings with 1000 points
Good luck mate!
I'm banking on Vancleave's good form, a win today would probably put him in the top 30 in the rankings. But the competition is extremely tough. A podium would be a fantastic result for Oswald and would show that he can mix it with the best cobblers in the world.
Good luck. Hope you finish second :P
